Y.Enterocolitica (O:9) YopD

Alternative Names: Not Available

Yersinia enterocolitica is a Gram-negative bacillus-shaped bacterium in the Enterobacteriaceae family. It is motile at temperatures between 22-29°C but becomes non-motile at human body temperature. Y. enterocolitica causes yersiniosis, an animal-borne disease found in humans, as well as various animals such as cattle, deer, pigs, and birds. Y. enterocolitica strains are categorized into six bio-groups based on phenotypic characteristics and into more than 57 serogroups based on their surface antigen. Only five of the six bio-groups are considered pathogens, and only a few serogroups are associated with disease in humans or animals. The most commonly isolated serogroups in human samples worldwide are O:3 (biogroup 4), O:5,27 (biogroups 2 and 3), O:8 (biogroup 1B), and O:9 (biogroup 2). In Europe, serogroup O:3 is the most prevalent, followed by O:9, while in the United States, serogroup O:8 is most frequently detected.

Product Description

Recombinant Yersinia Enterocolitica (O:9) YopD is a protein belonging to the family of Yersinia outer proteins (Yops). This protein has a molecular weight of approximately X kDa. YopD plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of Yersinia enterocolitica, a gram-negative bacterium causing gastrointestinal infections. It functions as a translocator protein, facilitating the injection of other Yops into host cells through the type III secretion system. Understanding the structure and function of YopD is crucial for deciphering the mechanisms of Yersinia pathogenicity and developing potential therapeutic interventions.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
