VEGF, CHO

Alternative Names: Vascular endothelial growth factor A, VEGF-A, Vascular permeability factor, VPF, VEGF, MGC70609.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a significant protein involved in vasculogenesis and angiogenesis. While its main effects are observed in vascular endothelial cells, VEGF also impacts other cell types such as monocytes/macrophages, neurons, cancer cells, and kidney epithelial cells. VEGF has multiple functions including increasing vascular permeability, promoting angiogenesis, vasculogenesis, and endothelial cell growth, facilitating cell migration, and inhibiting apoptosis. In laboratory settings, VEGF has been found to stimulate endothelial cell division and migration. Additionally, VEGF acts as a vasodilator, increases microvascular permeability, and was initially referred to as vascular permeability factor. High levels of VEGF are associated with POEMS syndrome (also known as Crow-Fukase syndrome), and mutations in the VEGF gene have been linked to both proliferative and nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, CHO, is a bioengineered protein that belongs to the family of vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs). This protein is produced using Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells as the expression system. With a molecular weight of approximately X kilodaltons, Recombinant Human Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, CHO, plays a significant role in promoting angiogenesis and vascular permeability. Its precise and controlled production ensures its suitability for various scientific and medical applications.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Human although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution VEGF Human Recombinant should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Human in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
