TGM2 Sf9

Alternative Names: Protein-glutamine gamma-glutamyltransferase 2, Tissue transglutaminase, TGase C, TGC, TG(C), Transglutaminase-2, TGase-H, TG2, TGM2, EC 2.3.2.13

Celiac disease involves intestinal lesions and tissue-type transglutaminase (tTG) is the main autoantigen associated with the disease. Recombinant human tTG is now available to replace the previously used guinea pig tTG. Modifications have been made to the tTG antigen to improve handling, including eliminating protein cross-linking activity while maintaining the enzyme's structure and GTPase activity. This engineering ensures consistent properties of the antigen preparations by avoiding variable and unclear covalent aggregates with host cell proteins.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Tissue Transglutaminase, Sf9 is a member of the transglutaminase family of enzymes. This protein is commonly used in research and biotechnology applications for its ability to catalyze the formation of covalent bonds between proteins. With a molecular weight of approximately 78 kDa, Recombinant Human Tissue Transglutaminase, Sf9 is produced in insect cells and is commonly utilized in protein-protein interaction studies and protein labeling experiments.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
