Product Description
The Human Transferrin Receptor (TfR) is a cell surface glycoprotein responsible for the uptake of iron-bound transferrin into cells. Belonging to the transferrin receptor family, it plays a vital role in cellular iron homeostasis. TfR is a heterodimeric protein composed of two subunits, TfR1 and TfR2, with TfR1 being the predominant isoform in most tissues. With a molecular weight of approximately 90-100 kDa, TfR1 is widely expressed in various cell types and is crucial for the efficient delivery of iron to cells through receptor-mediated endocytosis.
