SDF 1b

Alternative Names: CXCL12, chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 12, hIRH, Pre-B cell growth-stimulating factor, PBSF, SDF-1, SDF1, SDF1B, SDF-1b, SCYB12, TPAR1, TLSF-b

SDF-1, a small cytokine belonging to the chemokine family, is produced in two forms, SDF-1α and SDF-1β, through alternate splicing of the same gene. It belongs to CXC chemokines, characterized by four conserved cysteines forming two disulfide bonds. SDF-1 plays a crucial role in directing the migration of hematopoietic cells during embryogenesis. Knock-out mice for SDF-1 gene were lethal shortly after birth. SDF-1 is expressed in various tissues in mice, with its receptor being CXCR4. Recent studies suggest that CXCL12 may also bind to CXCR7 receptor. The gene for CXCL12 is located on human chromosome 10, with high sequence identity between human and mouse CXCL12 and CXCR4.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 beta (CXCL12) is a chemokine protein that belongs to the CXC chemokine family. With a molecular weight of approximately 8.4 kDa, CXCL12 plays a key role in cell migration and homing through its interaction with the CXCR4 receptor. This protein is involved in various physiological processes, including hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, and immune response regulation. Its recombinant form is commonly used in research and therapeutic applications due to its potent chemotactic properties.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Amino Acid Sequence

The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Lys-Pro-Val-Ser-Leu.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized SDF-1b although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CXCL12 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1b in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
