RTN4IP1

Alternative Names: NOGO-interacting mitochondrial protein, Reticulon-4-interacting protein 1 mitochondrial, RTN4IP1, NIMP.

RTN4IP1 is a distinct mitochondrial protein that interacts with reticulon 4, an effective inhibitor of regeneration following spinal cord injury. Understanding the interaction between reticulon 4 and mitochondrial proteins could shed light on the mechanisms underlying the inhibitory effect of reticulon on neurite growth.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Reticulon 4 Interacting Protein 1 (RTN4IP1) is a protein that belongs to the reticulon family. With a molecular weight of approximately X kDa, RTN4IP1 plays a significant role in various cellular processes. This protein is involved in the regulation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) morphology and dynamics, as well as in the modulation of ER stress response. RTN4IP1's function includes facilitating the formation of tubular ER networks and participating in protein trafficking and membrane fusion events within the ER. Understanding the properties and functions of RTN4IP1 contributes to the broader comprehension of cellular mechanisms and their implications in various physiological and pathological conditions.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
