The TARC cDNA encodes a 94 amino acid precursor protein, with a 23 amino acid signal peptide that is removed to produce a 71 amino acid mature protein. TARC is similar in amino acid sequence to other chemokines like RANTES, MIP-1a, and MCP-1. TARC is found in the thymus, with lower levels in the lung, colon, and small intestine, and is also expressed in stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells. It attracts T cell lines but not monocytes or neutrophils. CCL-17 is a ligand for the CCR4 receptor, specific to T cells, and is located on chromosome 16. It attracts T lymphocytes and binds to the CCR4 and CCR8 receptors. CCL17 plays crucial roles in T cell development and activation.

Recombinant Rat Thymus and Activation Regulated Chemokine (CCL17) is a chemokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. It plays a role in immune responses by regulating the trafficking of immune cells. CCL17 has a molecular weight of approximately 8 kDa and is involved in the recruitment of T cells and dendritic cells to sites of inflammation. Studies have shown that CCL17 is upregulated in various inflammatory conditions, making it a potential target for therapeutic interventions aimed at modulating immune responses.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized TARC although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18C. Upon reconstitution TARC should be stored at 4C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).ase prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized TARC in sterile 18M-cm H₂O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
