Alternative Names: CCK1, Protein CCK1, MEC, MGC71902, SCYA28, Small-inducible cytokine A28, CCL28, C-C motif chemokine 28, Mucosae-associated epithelial chemokine.

CCL28 is a small cytokine CC gene that acts as a chemoattractant for certain immune cells and binds to specific chemokine receptors. It plays a role in the function of various mucosal tissues and is important in mucosal immunity, particularly in HIV exposure and infection, as well as in the development of inflammatory skin diseases. The human CCL28 gene encodes a precursor protein that is cleaved to produce a mature protein. It shares a high degree of amino acid identity with mouse CCL28 and has similarities to CCL27/CTACK. Expression of CCL28 occurs predominantly in normal and pathologic colon tissue and in epithelial cells, with some presence in normal and asthmatic lung tissues as well.

Product Description

Recombinant Rat Mucosae-Associated Epithelial Chemokine (CCL28) is a chemokine protein belonging to the CC chemokine family. With a molecular weight of approximately 12 kDa, CCL28 plays a role in the recruitment of immune cells to mucosal tissues. This chemokine is involved in the regulation of inflammatory responses and immune cell trafficking, particularly in the mucosal epithelium. Its expression is induced in response to various stimuli, contributing to the maintenance of mucosal homeostasis and immune defense mechanisms.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized MEC although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18C. Upon reconstitution MEC should be stored at 4C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized MEC in sterile 18M-cm H₂O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
