Alternative Names: CC chemokine ABCD-1, CC chemokine STCP-1, C-C motif chemokine 22, Small-inducible cytokine A22, Macrophage-derived chemokine, MDC, MDC(1-69), Stimulated T-cell chemotactic protein 1, SCYA22, ABCD-1, Activated B and dendritic cell-derived, DC/B-CK, DCBCK, MGC34554, A-152E5.1

MDC (CCL22) is a small cytokine from the CC chemokine family located on chromosome 16. It attracts natural killer cells, activated T lymphocytes, monocytes, and dendritic cells, while showing little effect on neutrophils, eosinophils, and resting T lymphocytes. MDC plays a role in guiding activated T lymphocytes to inflammatory sites and interacts with the chemokine receptor CCR4. CCL22 is mainly found in macrophages, dendritic cells, and the thymus, with lower levels in the lung, spleen, and small intestine. In the lymph node, it is present in mature Langerhans' cells. CCL22 is also found in skin conditions like atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, and psoriasis, and has been linked to hindering lung cancer progression and promoting gastric cancer.

Product Description

Recombinant Rat Macrophage-Derived Chemokine (CCL22) is a chemokine protein that belongs to the CC chemokine family. With a molecular weight of approximately 8.5 kDa, CCL22 plays a significant role in immune responses by regulating the migration and activation of various immune cells. This chemokine is involved in the recruitment of monocytes, dendritic cells, and T cells to sites of inflammation, contributing to the overall immune response.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized MDC although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18C. Upon reconstitution MDC should be stored at 4C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized MDC in sterile 18M-cm H₂O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
