Alternative Names: Macrophage inflammatory protein 2-alpha, MIP2-alpha, MIP2, MIP2A, MIP-2a, chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 2, GRO2, Growth-regulated protein beta, Gro-beta, GROb, MGSA beta, SCYB2, MGSA-b, CINC-2a, CINC-3.

CXCL2 is a small cytokine in the CXC chemokine family, also known as MIP2-alpha, Gro-beta, and Gro-2. It is closely related to CXCL1, sharing 90% amino acid sequence identity. Produced by monocytes and macrophages, CXCL2 attracts polymorphonuclear leukocytes and hematopoietic stem cells. Its gene is located on human chromosome 4 among other CXC chemokines. CXCL2 activates cells through interaction with the CXCR2 receptor on the cell surface.

Product Description

Recombinant Rat GRO-beta/MIP-2 (CXCL2) is a chemokine protein belonging to the CXC subfamily. With a molecular weight of approximately 8.3 kDa, this protein plays a role in mediating the inflammatory response by promoting the recruitment of neutrophils to sites of infection or injury. Recombinant Rat GRO-beta/MIP-2 is commonly used in research settings to study the mechanisms of inflammation and immune response.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized GRO-b although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CXCL2 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized GRO-beta Rat in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
