RAP2B

Alternative Names: Small GTP Binding Protein, Ras-related protein Rap-2b, RAP2B, member of RAS oncogene family, Ras Family Small GTP Binding Protein RAP2B2

Ras-related protein Rap-2b (RAP2B) belongs to the RAS-related gene family and is distinct from normal ras proteins. RAP2B contains a threonine residue at aa 61, while normal ras proteins have a nontransforming glutamine residue at the same position. This threonine residue reduces the intrinsic GTPase activity of Rap2B, allowing it to remain in an activated state for a longer period of time compared to normal ras proteins. RAP2B is primarily found in platelets and is activated by thrombin during platelet activation. It is believed that RAP2B may have a role as an oncogene by activating the NF-kappaB pathway, potentially contributing to the development of cancer.

Product Description

Recombinant Human RAP2B, Member RAS Oncogene Family is a protein belonging to the RAS oncogene family, which plays a significant role in cell signaling and proliferation. With a molecular weight of approximately [insert weight], this protein is involved in various cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. Its precise functions are still being elucidated, but it is known to interact with other signaling molecules and contribute to the regulation of multiple cellular pathways. Understanding the properties and functions of Recombinant Human RAP2B can provide valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms governing cell behavior and potentially aid in the development of targeted therapies.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
