RAP1B

Alternative Names: Rap1B, member of RAS oncogene family, DKFZp586H0723, K-REV, RAL1B, GTP-binding protein smg p21B, Ras family small GTP binding protein RAP1B, RAS-related protein RAP1B, small GTP binding protein.

RAP1B is a type of small GTP-binding protein found in mammals that plays a role in cell signaling. It has its own GTPase activity and is found in all mammalian tissues. The part of RAP1B that interacts with a protein called GAP and is necessary for cell transformation is similar to the corresponding part in RAS proteins.

Product Description

Recombinant Human RAP1B, Member RAS Oncogene Family is a protein that belongs to the RAS oncogene family, a group of genes involved in cell signaling and growth regulation. With a weight of approximately 21 kDa, this protein plays a significant role in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Its precise functions are still being elucidated, but it is known to interact with several downstream effectors and participate in the regulation of various signaling pathways. This recombinant protein is commonly used in scientific research to study the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development and progression.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
