RAD51D (1-328)

Alternative Names: RAD51D, BROVCA4, R51H3, RAD51L3, TRAD, DNA repair protein RAD51 homolog 4, RAD51 homolog D, RAD51-like protein 3.

RAD51D belongs to the RAD51 protein family, which shares similarities with bacterial RecA and yeast Rad51. Members of the RAD51 protein family play a crucial role in DNA homologous recombination and repair. RAD51D forms a complex with other RAD51 family members to facilitate homologous pairing of single- and double-stranded DNA. It also contributes to the initial stage of recombinational repair of DNA.

Product Description

Recombinant Human RAD51D (1-328 a.a.) is a protein that belongs to the RAD51 family, which plays a significant role in DNA repair and recombination processes. With a weight of approximately 37.5 kDa, this protein is involved in the homologous recombination pathway, facilitating the repair of DNA double-strand breaks. It functions by promoting the assembly of nucleoprotein filaments on single-stranded DNA, thereby mediating the exchange of genetic material between homologous DNA strands. This recombinant protein serves as a valuable tool for studying the intricate mechanisms underlying DNA repair and recombination, contributing to advancements in various fields such as cancer research and genetic engineering.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
