Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is a polypeptide composed of 84 amino acids secreted by the parathyroid glands, which increases blood calcium levels. PTH acts in three main ways: by stimulating bone resorption to release calcium, enhancing active reabsorption of calcium in the kidney, and increasing calcium absorption in the intestine by upregulating vitamin D production. Recombinant Human full length PTH 1-84 has potential as an anti-osteoporotic agent, stimulating bone formation and reducing fractures.

Recombinant Human Parathyroid Hormone (1-84) is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring parathyroid hormone. Belonging to the family of hormones that regulate calcium and phosphorus levels in the body, it plays a key role in bone metabolism and calcium homeostasis. With a molecular weight of approximately 9.4 kDa, Recombinant Human Parathyroid Hormone (1-84) is commonly used in the treatment of osteoporosis to stimulate bone formation and increase bone mineral density.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Parathyrin although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution PTH should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Parathormone in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
