PGLYRP1

Alternative Names: PGRP, PGRP-S, PGLYRP, PGLYRP1, Peptidoglycan recognition protein 1, Peptidoglycan recognition protein short, TNFSF3L, TAG7, PGRPS.

Peptidoglycan Recognition Protein 1 (PGLYRP1) is a member of a specific protein family that plays a role in bacterial cell wall synthesis. PGLYRP1 can bind to the peptidoglycan found in bacteria, affecting their ability to produce this essential component. PGLYRP1 has been found to have a bactericidal effect on Gram-positive bacteria, meaning it can kill these types of bacteria, while it has a bacteriostatic effect on Gram-negative bacteria, meaning it can inhibit their growth. PGLYRP1 is primarily active in the bone marrow and has lower levels of activity in other organs such as the kidney, liver, intestine, spleen, thymus, leukocytes, lung, fetal spleen, and neutrophils. Its role is mainly related to innate immunity.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Peptidoglycan Recognition Protein 1 (PGLYRP1) is a protein that plays a significant role in the innate immune response against bacterial infections. Belonging to the peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRP) family, PGLYRP1 is involved in recognizing and binding to peptidoglycan, a major component of bacterial cell walls. With a molecular weight of approximately X kilodaltons, PGLYRP1 aids in the activation of immune responses, including the induction of antimicrobial peptides, thereby contributing to the defense against bacterial pathogens.

Storage Instruction

Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4°C. Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to add 0.1M Acetate buffer pH-4 to prepare a working stock solution of approximately 0.5mg/ml and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely at 37°C. For conversion into higher pH value, we recommend intensive dilution by relevant buffer to a concentration of 10µg/ml. In higher concentrations the solubility of this antigen is limited. PGLYRP1 is not sterile! Please filter the product by an appropriate sterile filter before using it in the cell culture.
