Porcine Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) is a glycoprotein hormone belonging to the gonadotropin family. It plays a key role in the regulation of reproductive processes in female pigs by stimulating the growth and development of ovarian follicles. FSH has a molecular weight of approximately 30 kDa and is produced by the anterior pituitary gland. Its actions are mediated through binding to specific receptors on the surface of ovarian granulosa cells, leading to the production of estrogen and the maturation of oocytes.

Lyophilized porcine FSH although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution FSH-porcine should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized ;porcine FSH ;in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
