oPrl A Mutant

Alternative Names: Prolactin, PRL, Luteotropin, Luteotropic hormone, Mammotropin.

Prolactin, a hormone produced by the adenohypophysis, has various effects on lactation, reproduction, maternal behavior, fat metabolism, immunomodulation, and osmoregulation. It acts as a cytokine and plays a role in immunoregulation, contributing to the development of lymphoid tissues and maintaining immune function. Prolactin also promotes cellular proliferation in nonreproductive tissues like the liver, spleen, and thymus. It stimulates the growth of aortic smooth muscle cells and enhances their proliferation when stimulated by PDGF. Additionally, prolactin has mitogenic effects on pancreatic beta cells and cultured astrocytes.

Product Description

The Recombinant Ovine Prolactin Antagonist, Mutant is a genetically modified variant of the Ovine Prolactin Antagonist, designed to inhibit the activity of prolactin, a hormone involved in various physiological processes. Belonging to the family of recombinant proteins, this antagonist is synthesized through recombinant DNA technology, resulting in a highly purified and bioactive product. With a precise molecular weight of [insert weight], this mutant variant exhibits enhanced binding affinity and specificity towards prolactin receptors, thereby effectively blocking the biological actions mediated by prolactin. This Recombinant Ovine Prolactin Antagonist, Mutant serves as a valuable tool in scientific research and potentially holds therapeutic implications in conditions associated with dysregulated prolactin signaling.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Amino Acid Sequence

The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ala-Thr-Pro-Val-Cys-Pro.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Ovine Prolactin Antagonist although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18C. Upon reconstitution Ovine Prolactin Antagonist should be stored at 4C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18C.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Ovine Prolactin Antagonist in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
