NRG1 B1

Alternative Names: Neuregulin-1, NRG1-B1, Heregulin-b1, NRG1 B1.

Neuregulin/Heregulin is a group of polypeptide growth factors derived from different genes (NRG1, NRG2, NRG3 and NRG4). The NRG1 gene produces over 14 proteins, some of which are soluble growth factors. HRG1-b1, one of these proteins, has an Ig domain and an EGF-like domain that bind to receptor tyrosine kinases erb3 and erb4. This binding promotes the formation of heterodimers with erb2, activating its kinase activity and causing tyrosine phosphorylation. The biological effects of HRG1-b1 are not fully understood, but it has been found to increase the motility and invasiveness of breast cancer cells, potentially by up-regulating the expression and function of the autocrine motility-promoting factor (AMF).

Product Description

Recombinant Human Neuregulin-1/Heregulin-b1 is a protein that belongs to the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family. With a weight of approximately 8.0 kDa, this protein plays a significant role in cellular communication and development. It acts as a ligand for various receptor tyrosine kinases, particularly ErbB3 and ErbB4, and is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Recombinant Human Neuregulin-1/Heregulin-b1 is widely studied in the field of molecular biology and holds potential for therapeutic applications in various diseases.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized NRG1-B1 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution NRG1-B1 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized NRG1-B1 in sterile 18M-cm H₂O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
