Cardiotrophin-like cytokine (CLC/NNT-1) is a member of the IL-6 family of cytokines that share the receptor subunit gp130, belonging to the type I cytokine receptor superfamily. NNT1 functions as a trophic factor for motor neurons, stimulates ACTH release from corticotrophs, and induces IgE synthesis and B cell proliferation. Cells expressing NNT-1 are found in embryonic muscle, lung epithelium, and mesenchyme. NNT1 binds and activates the ILST/gp130 receptor.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Neurotrophin-1 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution NNT1 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized NNT1 in sterile 18M-cm H₂O not less than 0.5mg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
