mSDF1a His

Alternative Names: Not Available

SDF-1, officially designated as CXCL12, is a small cytokine in the chemokine family produced in two forms by alternate splicing of the same gene. It is chemotactic for lymphocytes and plays a crucial role in cell coordination during development, directing the migration of hematopoietic cells. Knock-out mice for the CXCL12 gene did not survive past birth. The receptor for CXCL12 is CXCR4, previously known as fusin, although recent studies suggest CXCL12 may also bind to the CXCR7 receptor. Both CXCL12 and CXCR4 genes are located on human chromosome 10, with high sequence identity in human and mouse.

Product Description

Recombinant Mouse Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 alpha (CXCL12), His Tag is a member of the chemokine family, specifically belonging to the CXC subfamily. This protein is commonly used in research settings for its role in cell migration and hematopoiesis. With a molecular weight of approximately 8.3 kDa, Recombinant Mouse Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 alpha (CXCL12), His Tag is a valuable tool for studying chemokine signaling pathways and immune responses.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
