mSDF 1b

Alternative Names: CXCL12, chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 12, hIRH, Pre-B cell growth-stimulating factor, PBSF, SDF-1, SDF1, SDF1B, SDF-1b, TPAR1, SCYB12, TLSF, Thymic lymphoma cell-stimulating factor, TLSF-b, 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol 13-acetate repressed protein 1.

SDF-1, also known as CXCL12, is a small cytokine from the chemokine family produced in two forms by alternate splicing of one gene. It belongs to the CXC chemokine group, characterized by conserved cysteines forming disulfide bonds. CXCL12 plays a significant role in directing cell migration, particularly during embryogenesis. Knock-out studies in mice demonstrate its essential role in survival. Additionally, CXCL12 alters neuron electrophysiology. Its receptor, CXCR4 (previously known as fusin), was thought to be the exclusive binder, but recent research suggests CXCL12 also interacts with CXCR7. The gene for CXCL12 is located on human chromosome 10, with high sequence similarity between human and mouse.

Product Description

Recombinant Mouse Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 beta (CXCL12) is a chemokine protein belonging to the CXC chemokine family. With a molecular weight of approximately 8.4 kDa, CXCL12 plays a role in immune response and cell migration by binding to its receptor, CXCR4. This chemokine is involved in various physiological processes, including hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, and tissue repair. Its recombinant form is commonly used in research studies to investigate the mechanisms underlying these biological functions.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Amino Acid Sequence

The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Lys-Pro-Val-Ser-Leu.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized SDF-1b although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CXCL12 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1b in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
