mMEC

Alternative Names: CCK1, Protein CCK1, MEC, CCL28, C-C motif chemokine 28, SCYA28, Small-inducible cytokine A28, MGC71902, Mucosae-associated epithelial chemokine

CCL28 is a small cytokine gene with chemotactic activity for T cells and eosinophils, binding to receptors CCR3 and CCR10. It plays a role in extracutaneous epithelial tissues and mucosal organs, mediating mucosal immunity and contributing to inflammatory skin diseases. The human CCL28 cDNA encodes a 127 amino acid precursor protein with a signal peptide cleaved to produce a 105 amino acid mature protein. Both human and mouse CCL28 are highly conserved, sharing 83% amino acid identity. CCL28 is most closely related to CCL27/CTACK. Expression of CCL28 RNA is highest in normal and pathologic colon and is produced by epithelial cells, with presence also detected in normal and asthmatic lung tissues.

Product Description

Recombinant Mouse Mucosae-Associated Epithelial Chemokine (CCL28) is a member of the chemokine family, specifically belonging to the CC subfamily. This protein plays a role in immune response and inflammation by attracting immune cells to mucosal tissues. CCL28 has a molecular weight of approximately 11 kDa. Its function is to regulate the migration and activation of leukocytes in the mucosal epithelium, contributing to the body's defense against pathogens.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized CCL28 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CCL28 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CCL28 in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
