mMCP2

Alternative Names: Small inducible cytokine A8, SCYA8, CCL8, chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 8, MCP2, Monocyte chemoattractant protein 2, Monocyte chemotactic protein 2, MCP-2, SCYA10, HC14, AB023418, 1810063B20Rik.

Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 8 (CCL8) is a small cytokine in the CC chemokine family, previously known as monocyte chemotactic protein-2 (MCP-2). The CCL8 protein is initially produced as a precursor with 109 amino acids, which is then cleaved to form mature CCL8 with 75 amino acids. The CCL8 gene consists of 3 exons and is located on chromosome 17q11.2 in humans within a cluster of CC chemokines. MCP-2 acts as a chemoattractant and activator for various immune cells, such as mast cells, eosinophils, basophils, monocytes, T cells, and NK cells. CCL8 exerts its effects by binding to different chemokine receptors on cell surfaces, including CCR1, CCR2B, and CCR5.

Product Description

Recombinant Mouse Monocyte Chemotactic Protein-2 (CCL8) is a chemokine belonging to the CC subfamily. With a molecular weight of approximately 8.6 kDa, this protein plays a role in the recruitment and activation of monocytes, leading to inflammation and immune responses. Recombinant Mouse Monocyte Chemotactic Protein-2 is commonly used in research settings to study chemotaxis and immune cell migration.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized MCP-2 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CCL8 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CCL8in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
