mLungkine

Alternative Names: C-X-C motif chemokine 15, Cxcl15, Lungkine, Small-inducible cytokine B15, Scyb15

Mouse Lungkine, also known as CXCL15 (WECHE), is a member of the ELR motif-containing CXC chemokines. It is encoded by a gene located on chromosome 5 and its cDNA produces a 166 amino acid protein, consisting of a 25 amino acid signal peptide and a 141 amino acid mature protein with an unusually long C-terminal tail. This protein is secreted into the bronchoalveolar space and plays a role in directing neutrophils specific to the lungs. Research on Lungkine knockout mice has shown that the protein is essential for guiding neutrophils from the lung tissue into the airspace. It also acts as a chemotactic factor for bone marrow progenitor cells and influences the differentiation of hematopoietic cells. Lungkine transcripts have been identified in adult and fetal lung tissue, with elevated expression levels seen during inflammation. When compared to human ENA-78 and IL-8, mouse Lungkine shares a 35% and 31% amino acid sequence similarity, respectively.

Product Description

Recombinant Mouse Lungkine (CXCL15) is a chemokine protein that belongs to the CXC subfamily. This protein plays a role in immune response and inflammation by attracting leukocytes to sites of infection or tissue damage. With a weight of approximately 8.3 kDa, Recombinant Mouse Lungkine (CXCL15) is commonly used in research studies to investigate its function in various biological processes.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Lungkine although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CXCL15 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Lungkine in sterile 18M-cm H₂O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
