MIP 4

Alternative Names: Small inducible cytokine A18, SCYA18, CCL18, chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 18, CKb7, Macrophage inflammatory protein 4, MIP-4, Pulmonary and activation-regulated chemokine, PARC, CC chemokine PARC, Alternative macrophage activation-associated CC chemokine 1, AMAC-1, AMAC1, Dendritic cell chemokine 1, DC-CK1, DCCK1.

Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 18 (CCL18 / MIP-4) is a small cytokine in the CC chemokine family, previously known as PARC. MIP-4 shares about 60% amino acid sequence identity with CCL3. It is highly expressed in the lungs and to a lesser extent in certain lymphoid tissues like lymph nodes. MIP-4 acts as a chemoattractant for activated T cells and non-activated lymphocytes. The gene for human CCL18 is composed of three exons and is situated on chromosome 17.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-4 (CCL18) is a chemokine belonging to the CC subfamily. With a molecular weight of approximately 8.7 kDa, CCL18 plays a role in immune response regulation by attracting monocytes, dendritic cells, and lymphocytes to sites of inflammation. This protein is involved in the modulation of immune cell migration and activation, making it a key player in the inflammatory process.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Amino Acid Sequence

The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids of MIP-4 was determined and found to be Ala-Gln-Val-Gly-Thr.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized MIP-4 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution MIP-4 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized MIP-4 in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
