Eotaxin-2, also known as MPIF2 and Ckb6, is a novel CC chemokine that attracts cells expressing CCR3, such as eosinophils, basophils, Th2 T cells, mast cells, and certain dendritic cells. In addition, Eotaxin-2 inhibits the proliferation of certain types of hematopoietic progenitor cells. The mature protein contains 78 amino acids (92 amino acids in mice). CCL24 acts as a chemotactic chemokine for resting T-lymphocytes and eosinophils, with lower activity towards neutrophils and none towards monocytes and activated lymphocytes. It also suppresses colony formation by hematopoietic progenitor cells and binds to CCR3.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Eotaxin-2 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CCL24 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CCL24 Mouse Recombinant in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
