MEC

Alternative Names: CCK1, Protein CCK1, MEC, SCYA28, Small-inducible cytokine A28, CCL28, C-C motif chemokine 28, Mucosae-associated epithelial chemokine, MGC71902

CCL28, a member of the small cytokine CC gene subfamily, exhibits chemotactic activity for resting CD4 and CD8 T cells, eosinophils, and binds to chemokine receptors CCR3 and CCR10. It plays a role in the physiology of extracutaneous epithelial tissues, mucosal immunity in HIV exposure, and the pathogenesis of inflammatory skin diseases. Human CCL28 cDNA codes for a 127 amino acid precursor protein with a 22 amino acid signal peptide that is cleaved to produce a 105 amino acid mature protein. It shares 83% amino acid identity with mouse CCL28 and is most similar to CCL27/CTACK. Expression of CCL28 RNA is highest in normal and pathologic colon and is produced by epithelial cells. Additionally, CCL28 RNA is found in normal and asthmatic lung tissues.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Mucosae-Associated Epithelial Chemokine (CCL28) is a chemokine protein that belongs to the CC subfamily. It plays a role in the immune response by attracting immune cells to mucosal tissues. This protein has a molecular weight of approximately 9 kDa and is involved in regulating inflammation and immune cell migration in various tissues. CCL28 is a promising target for research in the field of immunology and inflammatory diseases.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized CCL28 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CCL28 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CCL28 in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
