Recombinant Human Lipocalin-2, also known as Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL), is a member of the lipocalin family which includes 25 proteins with the ability to bind small lipophilic substances in their hydrophobic core. These proteins act as transporters for substances such as retinal, biliverdins, and prostaglandins. NGAL is believed to play a role in regulating the inflammatory response and has been detected in the plasma of patients following a stroke.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized LCN2 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution LCN2 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
