Product Description
Recombinant Human Lecithin-Cholesterol Acyltransferase (LCAT) is an enzyme belonging to the serine esterase family that plays a key role in the metabolism of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. LCAT catalyzes the esterification of cholesterol, converting free cholesterol into cholesterol esters, which are then incorporated into HDL particles. This process is essential for the maintenance of cholesterol homeostasis and the prevention of atherosclerosis. Recombinant Human LCAT has a molecular weight of approximately 60-70 kDa.
