Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, a key component of the extracellular matrix in various tissues. Belonging to the glycoside hydrolase family 56, this enzyme plays a significant role in facilitating the diffusion of therapeutic agents, such as local anesthetics and subcutaneous fluids, by temporarily disrupting the hyaluronic acid barrier. With a molecular weight of approximately 45-65 kDa, hyaluronidase acts as a catalyst in the hydrolysis of hyaluronic acid, aiding in the dispersion and absorption of injected substances.

Lyophilized Hyaluronidase although although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Hyaluronidase should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Hyaluronidase in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
