Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone primarily produced during pregnancy by the placenta. Belonging to the glycoprotein hormone family, hCG plays a crucial role in maintaining the corpus luteum, which produces progesterone to support the early stages of pregnancy. With a molecular weight of approximately 36.7 kilodaltons, hCG is composed of two subunits, alpha and beta, that are responsible for its biological activity. This hormone is commonly used as a marker in pregnancy tests and can also be administered therapeutically to stimulate ovulation in women undergoing fertility treatments.

Lyophilized hCG although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CG-beta should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Human Chorionic Gonadotropin in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
