GSTM3

Alternative Names: Glutathione S-transferase mu 3 (brain), GST5, GSTM3-3, GST class-mu 3, GSTB, GTM3, brain type mu-glutathione S-transferase, glutathione S-aralkyltransferase M3, glutathione S-alkyltransferase M3, S-(hydroxyalkyl)glutathione lyase M3, EC 2.5.1.18.

There are eight families of proteins in the glutathione s-transferase (GST) family, including GSTM3. Each family has multiple proteins that serve various functions within the cell. The mu enzymes in particular are involved in detoxifying electrophilic compounds by binding with glutathione. This process helps to eliminate substances such as therapeutic drugs, carcinogens, environmental toxins, and oxidative stress products.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Glutathione S-Transferase MU 3 is a member of the glutathione S-transferase family, a group of enzymes involved in the detoxification of various xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. This particular isoform has a molecular weight of approximately 26 kDa. Recombinant Human Glutathione S-Transferase MU 3 is commonly used in research settings for its ability to catalyze the conjugation of reduced glutathione to electrophilic substrates. Its precise function and role in cellular processes make it a valuable tool for studying drug metabolism and toxicology.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
