GRO a, His

Alternative Names: Growth-regulated protein alpha, GRO-alpha(1-73), GRO1, GROa, SCYB1, CXCL1, chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 1, Melanoma growth stimulatory activity, MGSA, MGSA-a, MGSA alpha, Neutrophil-activating protein 3, NAP-3.

CXCL1 is a small cytokine in the CXC chemokine family, previously known by multiple names including GRO1 oncogene and NAP-3. It is secreted by melanoma cells and has mitogenic properties. CXCL1 is expressed by various cell types and has chemoattractant activity for neutrophils. It plays a role in spinal cord development, angiogenesis, inflammation, wound healing, and tumorigenesis. CXCL1 signals through the chemokine receptor CXCR2 and is located on human chromosome 4 amongst other CXC chemokine genes.

Product Description

Recombinant Human GRO-alpha (CXCL1), His Tag is a protein belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It plays a role in inflammation and immune response by promoting the migration of neutrophils to sites of infection or injury. This protein has a molecular weight of approximately 8.3 kDa and is commonly used in research and pharmaceutical applications for its chemotactic properties. The addition of a His tag allows for easy purification and detection of the protein in experimental settings.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
