Alternative Names: Not Available

Glutaredoxins are a family of thiol-disulfide oxidoreductases that catalyze the reversible reduction of protein-glutathionyl mixed disulfides to free sulfhydryl groups through a monothiol mechanism. Specifically, Glutaredoxin-3 (GRX3) plays a role in regulating signal transduction during immune cell activation, cardiac hypertrophy, and other processes in response to redox signals. GRX3 interacts with PRKCQ and may also regulate the thioredoxin system. It is primarily expressed in the heart, spleen, testis, thymus, and peripheral blood leukocytes, with weaker expression in the lung, placenta, colon, and small intestine.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Glutaredoxin 3 is a protein belonging to the Glutaredoxin family, which plays a key role in redox signaling and regulation of cellular processes. With a molecular weight of approximately 14 kDa, Glutaredoxin 3 functions as a thiol-disulfide oxidoreductase enzyme, facilitating the reduction of disulfide bonds in target proteins. This protein is commonly utilized in research settings to study redox homeostasis and oxidative stress responses in various biological systems.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
