FKBP5

Alternative Names: FK506-Binding Protein 5, FKBP5, FKBP-5, FKBP-51, FKBP51, FKBP54, 51 KDa FKBP, 51 KDa FK506-Binding Protein, FK506 Binding Protein 5, PPIase FKBP5, PPIASE, Peptidylprolyl Cis-Trans Isomerase, Rotamase, EC 5.2.1.8, T-Cell FK506-Binding Protein, HSP90-Binding Immunophilin, 54 KDa Progesterone Receptor-Associated Immunophilin, Androgen-Regulated Protein 6, FF1 Antigen, AIG6, P54, Ptg-10.

FK506 Binding Protein 5 (FKBP5) is a member of the immunophilin protein family, involved in immunoregulation and key cellular functions. It acts as a cis-trans prolyl isomerase and binds to FK506 and rapamycin. FKBP5 also possesses PPIase and co-chaperone activities. Its role in calcineurin inhibition is assumed, and it interacts with heat-shock protein 90 (HSP90) in unligated steroid receptor complexes. Additionally, FKBP5 functions with mature progesterone receptor complexes alongside 90 kDa heat shock protein and P23 protein.

Product Description

Recombinant Human FK506 Binding Protein 5, also known as FKBP5, is a member of the immunophilin protein family. This protein plays a role in the regulation of the immune system and is involved in the binding of the immunosuppressive drug FK506. FKBP5 has a molecular weight of approximately 51 kDa and is commonly used in research studies to investigate its functions and interactions within the immune system.
