Fibronectin - Human

Alternative Names: Not Available

Plasma fibronectin levels are higher in individuals with severe coronary artery disease. These elevated levels are associated with venous thromboembolism, especially in males. This connection suggests that biomarkers may play a role in the risk factors for arterial atherothrombosis and venous thromboembolism. Fibronectin is involved in various cellular processes, including tissue repair, embryogenesis, blood clotting, and cell migration/adhesion. There are two main forms of fibronectin: an insoluble glycoprotein dimer in the extracellular matrix and a soluble disulphide linked dimer in the plasma. Hepatocytes produce the plasma form, while fibroblasts, chondrocytes, endothelial cells, macrophages, and certain epithelial cells synthesize the extracellular matrix form. Fibronectin acts as a general cell adhesion molecule by attaching cells to collagen or proteoglycan substrates. It also facilitates cellular interaction with the extracellular matrix by binding to various components and membrane-bound fibronectin receptors on cell surfaces.

Product Description

Human Fibronectin is a glycoprotein that plays a significant role in cell adhesion and tissue organization. Belonging to the extracellular matrix protein family, it is composed of two nearly identical subunits linked by disulfide bonds. With a molecular weight of approximately 440 kDa, Human Fibronectin is involved in various physiological processes, including wound healing, embryogenesis, and cell migration. Its diverse functions are facilitated by interactions with cell surface receptors and other extracellular matrix components, making it a crucial component in maintaining tissue integrity and cellular functions.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Store the lyophilized fibronectin at 4° C. Upon reconstitution fibronectin should be stored at 4° C for 2 weeks and for future use below -18° C. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

We suggest reconstituting the 1mg Fibronectin with a chaotropic agent such as urea at room temperature at a concentration of 0.2mg/ml using sterile water. Let stand 1-2 hours. The recommended concentration is 4M-5M urea.
