The low affinity immunoglobulin gamma Fc region receptor III-A (FCGR3A) is a receptor for the Fc portion of immunoglobulin G and plays a role in removing antigen-antibody complexes from the bloodstream and facilitating antibody-dependent responses. FCGR3A works in conjunction with the gamma subunit of Fc epsilon. This receptor is found on natural killer cells, where it is a glycoprotein anchored by a transmembrane peptide. FCGR3A is also present on polymorphonuclear neutrophils, but in this case, it is anchored by a phosphatidylinositol linkage. Additionally, FCGR3A can be found on macrophages, a subset of T-cells, immature thymocytes, and placental trophoblasts. FCGR3A is involved in antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity and other antibody-dependent responses, including phagocytosis. Mutations in the FCGR3A gene have been associated with increased susceptibility to recurrent viral infections, systemic lupus erythematosus, and alloimmune neonatal neutropenia.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
