FADD

Alternative Names: Growth-inhibiting gene 3 protein, GIG3, MORT1, MGC8528, FADD, Fas (TNFRSF6)-associated via death domain, Protein FADD, FAS-associated death domain protein, FAS-associating death domain-containing protein, Mediator of receptor induced toxicity.

FADD is an adaptor protein that facilitates cell apoptotic signals by cooperating with various cell surface receptors. Its C-terminal death domain allows it to be recruited by receptors such as TNFRSF6/Fas-receptor, tumor necrosis factor receptor, TNFRSF25, and TNFSF10/TRAIL-receptor, thereby participating in the death signaling pathway triggered by these receptors. FADD's interaction with these receptors exposes its N-terminal effector domain, enabling it to recruit caspase-8 and initiate the cysteine protease cascade. Studies conducted on mice lacking FADD suggest its importance in early T cell development. FADD is involved in cell survival, proliferation, cell cycle progression, as well as regulating cellular sublocalization, protein phosphorylation, and inhibitory molecules.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Fas-Associated Death Domain (FADD) is a protein that plays a critical role in the regulation of apoptosis, or programmed cell death. Belonging to the Fas death domain family, FADD is involved in the activation of caspases, which are key enzymes responsible for initiating the apoptotic process. With a molecular weight of approximately 23 kilodaltons, this protein serves as an adaptor molecule, linking death receptors to downstream signaling components, thereby facilitating the transmission of apoptotic signals. Recombinant Human Fas-Associated Death Domain is widely utilized in scientific research to investigate the intricate mechanisms underlying cell death pathways and their potential implications in various diseases.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
