Recombinant Human Erythropoietin-alpha is a synthetic form of the hormone erythropoietin, which stimulates the production of red blood cells in the body. Belonging to the glycoprotein hormone family, this medication is commonly used to treat anemia caused by chronic kidney disease or cancer chemotherapy. With a molecular weight of approximately 30.8 kDa, Recombinant Human Erythropoietin-alpha is administered via injection to help increase red blood cell levels and improve symptoms of anemia.

Lyophilized Erythropoietin-a although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution EPO-alpha should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized EPO-alpha in sterile 18MΩ-cm H₂O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
