EEF1G

Alternative Names: PRO1608, EF1G, GIG35, EEF1G, EF-1-gamma, eEF-1B gamma, Elongation factor 1-gamma, Eukaryotic Translation Elongation Factor 1 Gamma

EEF1G is involved in anchoring the complex to other cellular components. It is a multi-protein complex responsible for delivering aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome. Overexpression of EEF1G is associated with pancreatic cancer due to its involvement in the oncogenic transformation process.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Eukaryotic Translation Elongation Factor 1 Gamma (eEF1G) is a protein that plays a vital role in the process of protein synthesis. Belonging to the elongation factor 1 (EF-1) family, eEF1G acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor, facilitating the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the ribosome during translation. With a molecular weight of approximately X kilodaltons, this protein is involved in the accurate and efficient elongation of polypeptide chains. Its significance lies in its ability to ensure the fidelity and speed of protein synthesis, contributing to the overall functionality of cellular processes.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
