Deslorelin, a drug in the gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs family, is being researched for its potential in cancer treatment. By blocking the production of sex hormones from the ovaries or testicles, it shows promise in inhibiting tumor growth. Deslorelin works by binding to and activating pituitary gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) receptors. In males, continuous and prolonged use of goserelin, a similar drug, leads to desensitization of these receptors and the inhibition of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) secretion, resulting in a significant decrease in testosterone production. Similarly, in females, long-term use of deslorelin decreases estradiol production.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Deslorelin although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Deslorelin should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Deslorelin in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
