DDX56

Alternative Names: DEAD Box Protein 21, DEAD Box Protein 56, DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) Box Helicase 56, DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) Box Polypeptide 56, DDX21, DDX26, DDX56, Nucleolar Helicase Of 61 KDa, 61-Kd Nucleolar Helicase, Probable ATP-Dependent RNA Helicase DDX56, ATP-Dependent 61 KDa Nucleolar RNA Helicase, NOH61, Nucleolar Helicase, Putative Nucleolar RNA Helicase, DEAD-Box RNA Helicase, EC 3.6.1, EC 3.6.4.13.

DDX56 is a member of the DEAD box protein family, which are RNA helicases characterized by the conserved motif DEAD. These proteins play roles in various cellular processes including RNA structure modifications such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and assembly of ribosomes and spliceosomes. Some members of this protein family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division based on their distribution patterns. DDX56 shows ATPase activity when polynucleotides are present and interacts with nucleoplasmic 65S preribosomal particles.

Product Description

Recombinant Human DEAD Box Protein 56 is a member of the DEAD box protein family, which is characterized by its conserved motif containing the amino acid sequence Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp. This protein family is involved in various cellular processes, such as RNA metabolism, RNA splicing, and translation initiation. Recombinant Human DEAD Box Protein 56 has a molecular weight of approximately X kDa. Its functional significance lies in its role as an RNA helicase, facilitating the unwinding of RNA duplexes, which is crucial for RNA processing and regulation.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
