CXCL16

Alternative Names: C-X-C Motif Chemokine 16, Chemokine (C-X-C Motif) Ligand 16, CXC Chemokine Ligand 16, CXCL16, CXCLG16, Scavenger Receptor For Phosphatidylserine And Oxidized Low Density Lipoprotein, SR-PSOX, SRPSOX, Transmembrane Chemokine CXCL16, Small-Inducible Cytokine B16, SCYB16.

CXCL16 is a membrane protein with a CXC chemokine domain that is shared by both human and mouse, with a 70% similarity in the chemokine domain and an overall 49% sequence identity. When released from the cell surface, it becomes a 35kDa soluble protein. Its receptor is CXCR6 and it functions as a scavenger receptor on macrophages, binding specifically to OxLDL. This suggests a potential role for CXCL16 in atherogenesis. It also induces chemotactic response and calcium mobilization by binding to CXCR6/Bonzo.

Product Description

Recombinant Human CXCL16 is a chemokine protein that belongs to the CXC subfamily. It plays a role in immune response and inflammation by attracting immune cells to sites of infection or injury. With a molecular weight of approximately 10 kDa, Recombinant Human CXCL16 is commonly used in research settings to study its effects on immune cell migration and activation. Its ability to modulate immune responses makes it a valuable tool for investigating the mechanisms underlying inflammatory diseases and potential therapeutic interventions.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized CXCL16 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution CXCL16 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized CXCL16 in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
