CTHRC1 HEK

Alternative Names: Protein NMTC1, Collagen Triple Helix Repeat Containing 1, CTHRC1.

Collagen triple helix repeat-containing protein 1 (CTHRC1) is a glycosylated 28kDa protein that negatively regulates collagen matrix deposition. It is highly conserved from lower chordates to mammals and is closely associated with calcified tissues and cartilaginous matrix. However, CTHRC1 is not found in endothelial cells. Qualitatively, CTHRC1 can be detected in the plasma of healthy individuals, with significantly higher levels observed during pregnancy, in diabetes, in inflammatory and infectious conditions, and in subjects with acute myeloid leukemia. Interestingly, CTHRC1 plasma levels do not increase in subjects with solid cancers. CTHRC1 also plays a role in hormone regulation, affecting lipid storage and cellular glycogen levels. The deletion of the CTHRC1 gene in mice leads to the formation of fatty liver (steatosis), while inactivation of the gene results in low bone mass.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Collagen Triple Helix Repeat Containing 1 (HEK) is a protein belonging to the collagen family. With a weight of approximately X kDa, it plays a significant role in various biological processes. This protein is synthesized through recombinant DNA technology, allowing for precise control over its production and purification. HEK is involved in maintaining the structural integrity of tissues, providing mechanical support, and facilitating cell adhesion. Its versatile nature and potential applications make it a subject of interest in research and development within the scientific community.
