CRYGD

Alternative Names: Gamma-crystallin D, Gamma-D-crystallin, Gamma-crystallin 4, CRYGD, CRYG4, CCP, CACA, CCA3, cry-g-D.

CRYGD is a member of the beta/gamma-crystallin family, which are important for the structure of the eye lens. In mammals, lens crystallins are categorized into alpha, beta, and gamma families. Gamma-crystallins have been found to contribute to the development of cataracts. Defects in the CRYGD gene are associated with various types of cataracts, including cataract autosomal dominant (ADC), cataract congenital non-nuclear polymorphic autosomal dominant (CCP), cataract congenital cerulean type 3 (CCA3), and cataract crystalline aculeiform (CACA).

Product Description

Recombinant Human Crystallin, Gamma D, is a protein that belongs to the crystallin family. With a weight of approximately X kilodaltons, it plays a significant role in maintaining the transparency and refractive index of the lens in the human eye. This protein is involved in the process of lens development and is crucial for maintaining proper lens structure and function. Understanding the properties and functions of Recombinant Human Crystallin, Gamma D, is of great importance in the field of ophthalmology and can aid in the development of treatments for various lens-related disorders.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
