CRABP2

Alternative Names: RBP6, CRABP-II, CRABP2, Cellular retinoic acid-binding protein II, RETINOIC ACID-BINDING PROTEIN CELLULAR TYPE II, Cellular retinoic acid-binding protein 2.

The protein CRABP2, identified by its NCBI Accession No: NP_001869, plays a role in regulating the access of retinoic acid to nuclear retinoic acid receptors. It is also involved in a feedback mechanism that controls the effects of retinoic acid on cell differentiation. CRABP2 is responsible for converting vitamin A into its active form, retinoic acid, within cells. This active form of vitamin A is involved in regulating genes related to lipid metabolism and the differentiation of adipocytes. The CRABP2 gene is located on chromosome 1q21-23, a region implicated in disorders such as familial combined hyperlipidemia (FCHL) and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Overall, CRABP proteins, which are small in size, play an important role in regulating the growth and differentiation of human skin through the mediation of retinoic acid.

Product Description

Recombinant Human Cellular Retinoic Acid binding Protein 2 (CRABP2) is a protein that belongs to the cellular retinoic acid-binding protein (CRABP) family. With a molecular weight of approximately 15 kDa, CRABP2 plays a significant role in the intracellular transport of retinoic acid, a crucial signaling molecule involved in various biological processes. This protein facilitates the binding and delivery of retinoic acid to its nuclear receptors, thereby regulating gene expression and cellular differentiation. Understanding the functions and mechanisms of CRABP2 can provide valuable insights into retinoic acid signaling pathways and potential therapeutic interventions.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
