cPlacental Lactogen

Alternative Names: CSH1, CS-1, hCS, PL, Chorionic Somatomammotropin Hormone 1

Placental Lactogen, also known as chorionic somatomammotropin, is a polypeptide hormone produced by the Syncytiotrophoblasts of the Placenta. It has various effects on growth, lactation, and steroid production. In women, placental lactogen secretion starts after implantation and reaches a peak of 1 g or more per day during late pregnancy. Additionally, placental lactogen acts as an insulin antagonist. Placental Lactogen Goat can activate human and other non-ruminant GH receptors, but not ruminant GH receptors.

Product Description

Recombinant Caprine Placental Lactogen (rCPL) is a protein hormone derived from the placenta of goats. Belonging to the family of placental lactogens, rCPL plays a significant role in regulating various physiological processes during pregnancy. With a molecular weight of approximately X kilodaltons, this protein hormone is involved in the growth and development of the placenta, as well as the regulation of maternal metabolism and fetal growth. Its recombinant form offers a valuable tool for studying the functions and mechanisms of action associated with this important placental hormone.

Product Guarantee

If your product is within its expiration period, and has not performed according to expectations, fill out the sample return form. Return the unused sample frozen, with the auto generated packing slip to the address on the instructions. You will receive a full refund along with a replacement of the unused portion (inclusive of the failed test). Damages do not cover any additional costs incurred for failed experimentation.

Amino Acid Sequence

The sequence of the first four N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ala-Glu-Asn-Tyr.

Storage Instruction

Lyophilized Placental Lactogen Caprine Recombinant although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Placental Lactogen Goat should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Placental Lactogen in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
