COPS7A

Alternative Names: COP9 Signalosome Subunit 7A, COPS7A, CSN7A, SGN7a, JAB1-Containing Signalosome Subunit 7a, COP9 Complex Subunit 7a, COP9 Constitutive Photomorphogenic Homolog Subunit 7A, COP9 Signalosome Complex Subunit 7a, Dermal Papilla-Derived Protein 10, DERP10, Signalosome Subunit 7a.

COP9 Signalosome Subunit 7A (COPS7A) is a crucial part of the COP9 signalosome complex (CSN), which plays a role in various cellular and developmental processes. The CSN complex regulates the ubiquitin conjugation pathway by removing the NEDD8 protein from the cullin subunits of SCF-type E3 ligase complexes. As a result, the ligase activity of SCF-type complexes, including SCF, CSA, and DDB2, is reduced. The CSN complex is also involved in phosphorylating proteins such as p53, JUN, I-kappa-B-alpha, ITPK1, and IRF8. This phosphorylation is likely facilitated by the CK2 and PKD kinases. The CSN-mediated phosphorylation of p53 and JUN enhances their degradation through the ubiquitin system, offering protection in the case of JUN.

Product Description

Recombinant Human COP9 Signalosome Subunit 7A, also known as CSN7A, is a protein that belongs to the COP9 signalosome complex family. This complex plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes, such as protein degradation, cell cycle progression, and DNA repair. With a molecular weight of approximately 52 kilodaltons, Recombinant Human CSN7A is involved in the assembly and stability of the COP9 signalosome complex, which is essential for proper cellular functioning. Its significance lies in its contribution to the intricate network of protein interactions within the cell, making it a valuable target for further research and understanding of cellular mechanisms.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
