COPS6

Alternative Names: COPS6, CSN6, MOV34-34KD, COP9 signalosome complex subunit 6, JAB1-containing signalosome subunit 6, MOV34 homolog, Vpr-interacting protein, hVIP

COPS6 is a member of the eIF3 superfamily, peptidase M67A family, and CSN6 subfamily. It is one of the 8 subunits of COP9 signalosome, a highly conserved protein complex that plays a significant role in regulating multiple signaling pathways. The structure and function of COP9 signalosome resemble that of the 19S regulatory particle of the 26S proteasome. COP9 signalosome interacts with SCF-type E3 ubiquitin ligases and acts as a positive regulator of these ligases. Additionally, COP9 is involved in cell cycle regulation and is believed to be a cellular cofactor for the HIV-1 accessory gene product Vpr.

Product Description

Recombinant Human COP9 Constitutive Photomorphogenic 6, commonly referred to as COP9, is a protein belonging to the COP9 signalosome (CSN) family. This protein plays a significant role in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression, DNA repair, and protein degradation. With a molecular weight of approximately 42 kilodaltons, COP9 acts as a crucial mediator in various signaling pathways, facilitating the coordination of diverse cellular activities. Its intricate involvement in cellular functions makes it a subject of extensive scientific research and exploration.

Storage Instruction

Reconstituted store at -20°C or -80°C.We recommend that single use aliquots are prepared to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Sample Prep Instruction

1. Thaw the vial on ice, spin briefly
2. Prepare single-use or stock aliquots. This stage will depend on your final application so please adapt as appropriate. All our proteins are supplied carrier protein-free. If compatible with your work and you are storing at lower concentrations (<50 ug/ml) adding carrier protein is highly advised (usually 1% w/v high purity BSA or equivalent – ensure all buffers are sterile-filtered).
3. Prepare single-use aliquots whenever possible to avoid freeze-thaw cycles which can damage the proteins and reduce bioactivity. Store aliquots at -70 °C (or -20 °C)
4. We recommend sterile filtering after dilution in media or the final working solution
