Cetrorelix is a synthetic peptide that belongs to the class of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonists. With a molecular weight of approximately 1431.7 Daltons, Cetrorelix acts by competitively binding to GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, thereby inhibiting the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This mechanism of action effectively suppresses the endogenous gonadotropin secretion, which is crucial for the regulation of the reproductive system. Lyophilized Cetrorelix although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Cetrorelix should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Cetrorelix in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
